Reversal originals

Titles can be superimposed on either reversal or negative original shots but they require differing techniques. When titles have to be superimposed over reversal original shots, title lettering should be shot on high contrast reversal film ready for superimposing. It is best to shoot white lettering on shiny black card. The necessary contrast can then be obtained in processing the letterihg original. If the lettering is drawn on a dull black card, it will not be possible to obtain a sufficient contrast to enable the lettering to be superimposed satisfactorily over a film background.
