Single Roll Optical Effects

 

The preparation of opticals in the cutting copy of a film is not confined to cases where the camera original is to be neg cut in two separate rolls. Optical effects can still be produced where the film is to be neg cut in a single roll but as you cannot physically overlap the two components on the original film, you must make a single duplicate copy incorporating the optical effect which can then be cut into the edited roll of camera original.
