A cynic distrusts everyone and everything. A cynic assumes the worst, always.
Assignment
Identify cynical attitudes in others, and watch how others respond to them.
Worse, a cynic is very vocal about it.
Cynics are difficult people. They are verbal pessimists. They not only assume the worst, but they also tell you about it in no uncertain terms: “That will never work,” “You will never get him to agree to that,” “This company will never achieve that goal.”
And often they are sarcastic and nasty about it: “You’re out of your mind,” “If you think that can happen, you come from a different planet,” “You’ve been around her long enough to know we will never be successful.” ...
