Read, read, read! Reading helps to keep your mind sharp. Just as what you put in your mouth affects your body’s health, what you put into your mind also affects how you think. So as you’re working to improve how you relate to people, read up on topics such as communicating more clearly, human psychology, or how to manage conflict.

Get on the Web and check out an online bookstore, or your local library, to get a list of books about people and people skills. Then set a goal to read one book a month for the next year. If you apply what you learn, you will find yourself handling people like an expert.
