Take a “People Break”
Life in general today can wear you down. But when you add in the people factor, and all the energy it takes to deal with them effectively, you can really find yourself feeling drained.
Be alert to when your batteries are running low, and your tolerance levels with people are approaching the bottom. These are times when you could say or do something you will later regret, and commit a career-limiting move.
When you start feeling that you are tapped out with people, take a people break. Just go off to yourself for a few minutes, or a few hours if possible. Change your scenery; get out of the office for a quick walk.
