One of the most important ways to recognize an employee’s performance, productivity, and contributions is with a job title. Although it is understood that a job title defines a person’s job, it is important to emphasize that the title plays a role in defining the jobholder.

Look over individual performance levels in your department and consider adding some new and more accurate titles to reward employees who have clearly surpassed all expectations. In addition, consider placing such words as “lead,” “senior,” and “executive” in front of existing titles.
