You Can’t Be Fired Unless…
All employees realize that their employer has the ultimate power over them: the ability to fire them—with or without a cause or reason. If you are drop-dead serious about inspiring your people, then management by intimidation and using the word firing will rarely be part of your conversation with your team. In fact, you will see firing as an undesirable last resort only.

There are certain absolutes on any job that should result in firing. On a 3 × 5 card, write down each of these actions or events (such as theft, lying to you or a customer, drinking on the job, or failing to come to work).
