Back in ancient Greece, the great-granddaddy of all rappers, Homer, had the Iliad and the Odyssey memorized. He would rhyme on for days about a giant hollow horse, lotus-eaters, Cyclops, Sirens, and battle after battle. But back then, they didn’t have TV and radio. Homer didn’t have to pause for a station break or a commercial.
