Recently, a young, self-contained band asked us to advise them on how to proceed with their careers. They’ve been working around town and have started to generate a “buzz.”

The group feels that any day now someone is going to approach them with a contract, and they’re afraid they will be taken advantage of because they are young and naïve in the ways of the music business. We suggested that they attend our workshop to get feedback on their songs. But they were afraid to show the songs because they hadn’t registered them with the Copyright Office.
