Inspired by modernists and Art Nouveau, Alexander Rodchenko works show versatility in subject, composition, and form. What you’d usually expect to see in a frame—people and places shot straight on—isn’t what you get from Rodchenko. His camera was often at a tilt when shooting, and he looked for artistic shadows into which he’d frame his subjects.
