Recognize theemployee’sdifferentperspective.

It is totally possible that the employee will not see a given area of performance the same way you do. He or she might not consider the impact to be as significant as what you noted. Rather than shut the employee off, hear them out. You do not have to immediately change your perspective, but it might be of great value to understand the point she or he is making.
