Stefan Vidler grew up

on the shores of Perth,

Australia, studying

fashion tailoring in

his hometown before

setting his sights

on London. With a

talent for the visual

arts, he carved out a

career specializing in

landscape painting and

 lm. A chance meeting

with Kerry marked his

return to fashion with

a range of intricate

one-off pieces leading

to their  rst collection

for S/S 06. Kerry Nixon

was born and raised

in Glasgow, Scotland.

She moved to London

and graduated from

the Guildhall School

of Music and Drama in

Violin and Electronic

Music in 2001. Classical

concertos and 24-

speaker surround sound

installations were her

staple before turning

her talents to fashion,

for which she has been

forever passionate.

Combining her arts

background with a

love for everything

vintage, Kerry seeks to

create clothing that is

both cutting-edge and

elegant.

931 INSPIRATION. At Vidler & Nixon

we work as a true design partnership.

Before each collection, we both spend a

month researching themes and inspiration.

We then collaborate on the themes for

each collection, creating mood boards

and sketches. We both come from an art

perspective and this in uences everything

we do. The initial concept stage is always a

highly creative and exciting time.

EFERENCES. The Vidler & Nixon

woman is elegant and sophisticated with

a contemporary edge. We always keep the

female form in mind and create clothing

that is both cutting-edge and elegant.

Our aim is to make women feel beautiful.

We pride ourselves on having a fantastic,

private clientele of women who come to

us for special pieces and we enjoy being

inspired by them.

ORKPLACE. Our workplace is a

creative hub buzzing with people and ideas.

We have a relaxed attitude in the studio as

this promotes a good working environment

and inspires quality design.

EVELOPING A COLLECTION. Every

piece in Vidler & Nixon has to feel like it is

a little piece of luxury. From our original

collaborations on intricate one-off pieces

we realized the importance of quality

and detail and have kept this our mantra

throughout every collection.

ATERIALS. We use traditional

Scottish fabrics for our coatings, beautiful

luxury fabrics from Holland & Sherry, and

hand-woven Harris Tweed. Driven by the

desire to produce beautiful, high-quality

garments, Vidler & Nixon have a true belief

in their brand. We champion the use of

luxury, traditional British fabrics by using

them innovatively in womenswear. We

have forged successful ties with the luxury

Savile Row fabric house, Holland & Sherry,

and develop and adapt their fabrics for

womenswear.
