One of the pioneer
Italian brands, the
Fiorucci label was
founded by Elio
Fiorucci in 1967. Its
original intent was to
bring the latest trends
from the Swinging
London and American
classics, such as the
T-shirt and jeans, to a
then burgeoning Italian
fashion scene. By the
late seventies and early
eighties the company
had made a strong
trendsetting name for
itself especially in the
US. Those were the days
of the so-called daytime
Studio 54, attracting
such scenesters as Andy
Warhol to a young
Madonna. The label
never failed to be on
the crest of the wave,
introducing iconic
eighties must-haves
such as camou age
prints and leopard-
skin prints. Carlotta
Costanzo is a young
Italian designer. After
a period at Luciano
Soprani, she joined
Fiorucci, bringing her
energy and creative  air
as a senior designer.
