even without language or digital technology, the world is full of structures that inform bodies about what actions those structures afford.
A lot of my (our human) "understanding" about the world is "pre-verbal." It relates to an implicit understanding about what types of actions can be taken or not. One can move across an open field in a different way than one would if there were a wall or a natural barrier of some sort.
