We defined four fundamental steps in team staffing. This model is similar to other team staffing models (Klimoski & Zukin, 1999) in that member selection is grounded first in identifying task and teamwork requirements and then in matching member skills to those requirements. However, we also argue that staffing should focus initially on selecting a potential membership pool based first on generic task skills and then on generic teamwork skills.
