NOTE: USING A SHARED WSUS DATABASE

When you install more than one SUP at a primary site, it is a best practice to use the same WSUS database for each SUP in the same Active Directory (AD) forest. Sharing the database lets you significantly mitigate the client and network performance impact that can occur when clients switch to a new SUP. When a client switches to a new SUP that shares a database with the old SUP, a delta scan still occurs, but this scan is much smaller than it would be if the WSUS server had its own database. You must also share the local WSUS content folders when using a shared WSUS database for SUPs. See
