On every version of your registration forms, put the logos for the social networks that are most likely to be relevant for your audience (hint: B2B == LinkedIn, B2C == Facebook). Even if you have no intention of doing social CRM, these networks provide some single sign-on (SSO) and avatar unique identifiers that make your site easier for the user and provide keys that are super-valuable for analytics. Best practices are to offer some small incentive (a tchotchke or some virtual points) for registrants to reveal their social network identifier.
