When organizations think about how they are doing, the emphasis is often on past performance. Leaders tend to focus on the past as they review financial performance, customer feedback, goal accomplishment, and so forth. As a change leader, you must look at the future and evaluate what you need to do to be more successful going forward.
One way for you to take a proactive approach to managing change is to think about the life cycles of organizations and ask yourself the following questions:
• Where are we as a team or department?
• What can we do to take our performance to the next level?
By evaluating your team’s current strengths and challenges, you can identify opportunities for internal change and renewal.
