Tip: Accessing a Linux Server There are a variety of ways to test out cross-compiling to a Linux server. (This is assuming you’re not running Linux as your main operating system, in which case you probably know how to access a Windows or Mac OS system.) You can download and run a “Live CD” of Ubuntu Linux on your own computer or in a virtual machine using software such as VirtualBox. A Live CD is the regular installer, but it enables you to run the operating system without having to install it permanently to disk.
