npm init is a setup "wizard" for creating package.json files. Once executed, npm will prompt us for each common field. This is a good habit to get into as, in most cases, the only similar field across all your projects will be the author field and there is an npm command for this too: npm config set init.author.name 'Jaime Pillora'.
