Lateral thinking and conceptual reasoning. These kinds of puzzles are normally found in adventure games. Each puzzle is unique because once the player has found the solution to a given challenge (such as using a vacuum cleaner to obtain something that is out of reach, for example), then she knows it and the challenge is no longer puzzling.
