Even better than penalties are awards and recognition. Proactively recognizing individuals and offices that have been effective in posting only accessible content, or in improving the accessibility of content, is a great goal. Annual job evaluations for web content contributors or web editors could include a line item for posting accessible content. For instance, for university faculty, credit for posting only accessible course content could be included on faculty annual reports or applications for promotion and tenure as an area of success. University provosts, deans, and department chairs can include accessible IT content on annual departmental/college reports, accreditation reports, and reports to regional/provincial/state governme...
