In 2011 we added nearly 5,000 new titles into our library, more than half of which were published in 2011. We also brought content from 18 new publishers to our library.

German Titles Now Available

Recently, we added new content and functionality for our individual subscribers that makes it seamless and easy to access not only the thousands of English resources in Safari Books Online - but also hundreds of native German technology titles.
Safari To Go for the iPad Now with 3G
In case you missed it, we recently released v2.1 of the Safari To Go app for the iPad. Subscribers now have complete access to the library (books + videos) and all of the app’s features anywhere you have a 3G connection. Other upgrades in v2.1 include enhanced single page bookmarking, allowing you to find the most useful information again quickly, and the ability to return to precisely the last place you left in any titles you've started. So, if you have an iPad, make sure you visit the app store to download or update Safari To Go.
2011 was a busy year for us — we rolled out a new version of the Safari To Go iPad app (which has been downloaded by more than 60,000 customers around the world), revamped our mobile web site, and made a major migration to the industry standard EPUB format. Moving to EPUB, the Industry Standard
In April, Safari Books Online announced that publishers will be able to upload new titles into Safari Books Online with just a single industry-standard EPUB file, rather than EPUB and PDF. This change will allow users to receive new content much more quickly, often before the book or video is even in final publication distribution.

New German technology content added to the library
This month Safari Books Online is adding hundreds of German language books to its existing library of more than 20,000 books and training videos in English for enterprises, workgroups and individuals. The library's search tool has been augmented to search in both English and German to accommodate all subscribers. Talk to your Safari Books Online account administrator or librarian if you would like to change your preferences to see all the new German technology titles in your New Books feed. Note that this feature must be switched on for both corporate and consumer customers outside of German speaking countries. Titles being added to the Safari Books Online library are from such respected publishers as O'Reilly Verlag, Addison-Wesley Verlag, Markt+Technik Verlag, dpunkt.verlag, Wiley-VCH Verlag (für Dummies) and Microsoft Press Deutschland.
