WHAT IS NEW

REFLECTING ON 2011
and a look ahead to 2012

A message from Andrew Savikas, CEO, Safari Books Online

2011 was a busy year for us — we rolled out a new version of the
Safari To Go iPad app (which has been downloaded by more than 60,000 customers around the world), revamped our mobile web site, and made a major migration to the industry standard EPUB format. As Tim O’Reilly put it over at the O’Reilly Radar Blog, we’re focused on making Safari Books Online an ‘access anywhere’ service that’s far better optimized for mobile and tablet consumption, and while we're proud of how far we’ve come, we also know there’s much further we can go to serve your learning and reference needs even better while you’re on the go.

It’s also nice to head into 2012 knowing that while we of course have aspirations to serve customers around the world better, we are already well on the way to doing that, with more than 30% of our subscribers based outside of the US. This year we added payment options in Euros and Pounds Sterling, and will be adding more payment options soon in 2012.

2012 is shaping up to be a big year for Safari Books Online, and we can’t wait to show you some of the stuff we’re working on, including new ways to help you learn the skills and technologies you need to stay ahead.

On behalf of everyone at Safari Books Online, happy new year!
