Synopsis
Manages licensing locally on a server.
To Launch
Start → Settings → Control Panel → Licensing
Command interpreter →
control
liccpa.cpl
Description
Licensing opens a dialog box to:
Add or remove per-server client-access licenses (CALs) on the local server.
Change the licensing mode from per server to per seat (a one-time, one-way operation).
Configure the interval at which the local server replicates its licensing information to the site-license server.
Notes
If you plan to use Windows 2000 Server on a standalone non-networked computer, you can set the number of concurrent per-server licenses to zero.
Once a server is changed to per-seat mode, you add CALs using the Licensing console (see Licensing).
Licenses removed from a server can be allocated to a different server.
