Take advantage of advanced search

Twitter's advanced search is one of the best—and most underused—parts of the service. To find it, head to http://search.twitter.com and look near the search box for the Advanced Search link, or just go right to http://search.twitter.com/advanced.

When you click through, you'll get a form that looks like any old advanced search. But don't be fooled. It actually has several very cool options that you won't find in almost any other search—and they make Twitter search ultra-powerful.

Although these fields may look mundane, don't miss: 1) People, 2) Places, 3) Attitudes (which includes the very useful option "Asking a question?") and 4) Containing links. The search results shown here are from people near Portland, Oregon who have asked Shaquille O'Neal a question.
