End

Ends the current transaction block and finalizes its modifications.

Synopsis

END [ WORK | TRANSACTION ]

Parameters

WORK | TRANSACTION

A pair of optional noise keywords. They can be ignored, or used to make your SQL more readable.

Results

COMMIT

The message returned when a transaction is successfully committed.

NOTICE: COMMIT: no transaction in progress

The notice returned if there is no transaction in progress for the END command to end.

Description

The END command is a synonym for COMMIT. Use it to end transactions the same way you would use the COMMIT command.

Example

The following example demonstrates how to commit a transaction using the END command:

booktown=# END WORK;
COMMIT
