When a Postfix server is running on an internal network behind
a proxy or NAT device, and it serves as the backup MX host for a
domain, it’s possible to get mail delivery loops when the primary MX
host is down. The proxy_interfaces specifies a list of network interface addresses that
receive mail via a proxy device. Postfix avoids mail loops with
listed interfaces.
Example:
proxy_interfaces = 192.168.15.23
