Synopsis

USER()

This function returns the username and the hostname for the current MySQL connection. The function takes no arguments. It’s synonymous with SESSION_USER() and with SYSTEM_USER(). Here is an example:

SELECT USER( );

+-------------------+
| USER( )           |
+-------------------+
| russell@localhost |
+-------------------+
