Synopsis
INSTR(string
,substring
)
This function returns the starting position of the first
occurrence of the substring in the string given as the first argument.
The index of the first position is 1. This function is
case-insensitive unless one of the arguments given is a binary string.
For an example of this function, see the description of INSERT() previously in this chapter. INSTR()
is similar to one of the
syntaxes of LOCATE(), but the parameters are
given in a different order.
