Chapter 31. Sharing Files Wirelessly with Bluetooth
If you'd like to transfer a file stored on your laptop Macintosh computer to another Macintosh, you could connect both computers using a FireWire or Ethernet cable, but few people carry these cables with them (and even fewer people know what a FireWire or Ethernet cable is). If you have a blank CD or DVD, you could save a file on the disc and then pop the disc into the other Macintosh computer—but how often do you have a blank CD or DVD on hand?
Rather than fiddle with cables or discs, you can use Bluetooth, a wireless connection standard used by all new Macintosh computers. By using Bluetooth, you can swap files between Macintosh computers without using cables, CDs, or DVDs.
