You can even attach a mouse, keyboard, and monitor to a laptop so you can use a bigger screen and keyboard at your desk while still having the option of carrying your laptop around wherever you need it.
If you have a desktop Macintosh, shut it down when you know you won't be using it for an extended period of time, such as over the weekend or when you're on vacation. Although a Macintosh doesn't consume a large amount of electricity, every little bit that you save can help, and that also means a lower electricity bill for you.
