Using the Scroll Ball

The scroll ball appears in the middle of the Mighty Mouse near the front of the mouse. By rolling the scroll ball, you can move the contents of a window in different directions, such as up and down or left and right.

Note

Laptop trackpads do not have a scroll ball. To simulate scrolling with a trackpad on a new Mac laptop, press two fingertips on the trackpad and slide both fingers up/down or left/right. You can also scroll by holding one fingertip still and sliding the second fingertip up/down or left/right.

  1. Click the Finder icon on the Dock. The Finder window appears.

  2. Click Applications in the left pane of the Finder window. The contents of the Applications folder appear in the right pane of the Finder ...
