Typographical Conventions

The following typographical conventions are used in this book:

Italic

Used for filenames, Unix command names, URLs, daemons, emphasis, and the first use of terms where defined

Constant width

Used for function and method names and their arguments, and to show literal code in text

Constant width italic

Used to identify replaceable values

Constant width bold

Used to show default values in syntax lines and to indicate user input
