Set to Standard Views

This option, in Mac OS 9's View Options window, lets you apply a set of standard view settings simultaneously (as defined in Finder PreferencesViews) to any folder window. In Mac OS X, you accomplish the same thing in the View Options window by switching the top option from "This window only" to "All windows."
