Training, Conferences, and Certification Programs

As a whole, the information security community of professionals is quite open and self-supportive. Many superb not-for-profit training programs exist that offer a tremendous value for the money spent. In addition, there are several commercial training programs that can provide valuable sources of training for you or your incident response team’s staff. The Forum of Incident Response and Security Teams (FIRST), http://www.first.org

FIRST holds annual conferences that usually contain several introductory as well as technical tutorials on current topics in incident response. Additionally, it holds biannual technical colloquia for its member teams, in which highly technical attack profile and other useful information is exchanged among members.
