PowerSellers and the Role of Numbers on eBay

eBay recognizes sellers who meet certain sales quotas as PowerSellers and awards them a few extra perks:

Better customer support.

Depending on your PowerSeller tier, you may have access to priority web-based support, or even toll-free telephone support.

More education.

As a PowerSeller, you’ll have access to advanced selling educational tools, seminars, and information.

Free stuff.

Qualify for promotional offers and get a bunch of eBay promotional merchandise for yourself (or your customers).

Finally, the recognition you deserve.

When you join, you’ll receive a welcome letter and a PowerSeller certificate of achievement from Meg Whitman. More importantly, it’ll become evident who Meg Whitman is. (She’s the esteemed President and CEO of eBay, and the person who’s followed around at eBay Live! conferences as though she were handing out $5 bills to anyone who asked.)
