Open Search Results in a New Window

View eBay search results and eBay listings side-by-side in two windows.

The next time you do a search on eBay that gives you 53,112 matching items, you might not be so tempted to give up if you had a quick way to go through them all. Fortunately, it’s easy to plow through a large number of listings if you use multiple browser windows.

Setting up two browser windows is easy enough: with your search results open in one window, press Ctrl-N (or go to File New Window) to open a second window, and then resize and reposition them so they appear side-by-side on your screen. Finally, drag each link from the search results into the new window to view the corresponding listing in that window. Do this repeatedly until you’ve gone through them all.

Tip

To show more listings on each page of search results, click Customize Display (at the top-right of the search page), and choose a number from the Items per page list (200 is the maximum). If you’re signed in, your preference will be saved for all future searches.

Although using two windows to open a bunch of links is easier than remaining confined to one, the dragging and dropping can get a little cumbersome after a short while. The good news is that it’s not your only choice.

The Hack
