Defensive Metrics cover the “non-offense” areas, where a coder’s skills and actions prevent future problems or helps the team keep from losing ground in relation to the team goals. These are analogous to defensive-related metrics in sports. In baseball, these would be pitching and fielding statistics; or in football, statistics like tackles and interceptions.
